Leading agriculturalists give highest priority to the maintenance of a soil's pH.
West Coast soils are naturally acidic due to precipitation with a pH of 4.7 or less (common to Lower Mainland). The application of nitrogen based fertilizers raises the free hydrogen concentration of the soil which directly lowers the pH.

As soil becomes increasingly acidic, calcium, magnesium and potassium can be leached out of the soil.

If poor growth, loss of stand, or weeds plague your lawn, Dolomite Soil Conditioner may be the answer to your problems.

Although necessary to assure healthy growth and colour, nitrogen fertilizers applied each spring remain at the soil surface and create strongly acid conditions in the top 1/2 inch of soil - the "Root Zone" for most lawn grass species.

Acid precipitation of 4.7 (a typical pH) further aggravates these conditions which causes the grass to die out, and encourages the growth of acid tolerant weeds.

Residential
Ground calcitic and dolomitic limestone are the liming "products of choice" because of their overall effectiveness, low cost and ease of handling (non-toxic/non-burning).

GROUND MARKING MATERIAL

Safe T Mark is an excellent natural powder for ground marking on sports fields, construction projects or other special events. It is safe and non-toxic, making it the right choice.

Safe T Mark is a natural, pulverized mineral product and, unlike hydrated materials, will not harm vegetation, burn or irritate skin or eyes and is safe for children. Field marking compounds are intended for use in sporting and other situations where they may come in direct contact with skin and eyes and particles be ingested in small quantities. Safe T Mark is not classified as Hazardous Material by W.H.M.I.S. There are no pigments to wash away and it will not become hard or lumpy when moist.

Safe T Mark can be spread by hand or by using a drop spreader. Safe T Mark is available in 20 kilogram (44 pound) bags. Technical Data: Dry Ground Limestone, Min. 93% dry brightness, Min. 99% passing 95 mesh, <.002% soluble in water.
